USDA OIG: USDA’s Fiscal Year 2014 Compliance with Improper Payment Requirements

Unites States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has not complied with the Improper Payments Elimination and Recovery Act of 2010 (IPERA) for a fourth consecutive year.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) programs accounted for approximately $4.2 billion of the $6.9 billion of improper payments, or about 60 percent, reported by USDA’s high-risk programs for FY 2014.
