Border Patrol Paid A Firm $13.6 Million To Hire 2 Recruits

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) paid $297 million to Accenture, a hiring firm, to hire 7,500 new recruits. The Office of Inspector General (OIG) found that in 10 months the firm had processed only “two accepted job offers.” The OIG warned that “CBP may have paid Accenture for services and tools not provided…. CBP risks wasting millions of taxpayer dollars on a hastily approved contract that is not meeting its proposed performance expectations.”
